Dr. Piyush Barlota is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Shri Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College (SVNGMC) in Yavatmal. Specialising in General Psychiatry, De-Addiction, Seizure Disorder and Headache, Dr. Barlota can also be consulted at the Barlota Hospital & De-Addiction Centre, where he is the Chairman & Managing Director.

After graduating with the MBBS degree from SVNGMC, Dr. Barlota did his post-graduation in Mumbai, adding the DPM and MD qualifications to his name. He worked for six months as Senior Resident in the Department of Psychiatry at SVNGMC. He gained seven years’ experience as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at SVNGMC, and currently works as Associate Professor in the same department. He has been running the 15-bed Barlota Hospital with psychiatric intensive care for the past nine+ years in Yavatmal.

Dr. Piyush Barlota has arranged more than 100 camps to generate community awareness about mental health. He has delivered numerous lectures for doctors, NGOs and the general public. Through his involvement with charitable trusts, Dr. Barlota has provided free psychiatric treatment to those who cannot afford payment. His objective is to do his best to foster positive mental health for the common man in society.
